SRV Records in Cloud Web Hosting
If you host a domain within a cloud web hosting account from our company and we handle the DNS records for it, you are going to be able to set up a new SRV record with a few clicks in the DNS Records part of your Hepsia CP. Our user-friendly interface makes it much easier to set up a new record in comparison to other web hosting Control Panels, so if you want an SRV record, you'll simply need to fill a few boxes and you'll be set. This includes the protocol as well as the port number, the value i.e. the actual record, the priority and the weight. For the last two you could set any value between 1 and 100 based on which server you'd like customers to access first or what recommendations the other provider has given you. As an extra option, you can select how long this record is going to be active after you modify it or delete it - the so-called Time To Live time, which is measured in seconds. If you're not requested otherwise, you may leave the default value there.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
As we understand how annoying it could be to handle DNS records, we'll offer you an easy-to-use DNS administration instrument as an element of our custom-made Hepsia Control Panel, so when you host your domain addresses within a semi-dedicated server account from us, you'll be able to set up an SRV record without any issues. We also have a step-by-step guide, that'll make things much easier. Using an intuitive interface, you'll have to input the details that the other company has provided you with - protocol, port number and service. Unless they have given you specific recommendations to change the priority and / or the weight values, you may leave those two options as they are and your brand new record will go live within a couple of minutes. The Time To Live option (TTL) may also be set to a custom value, but typically the default value of 3600 seconds is used for most records. This value reveals the time the record will continue existing after it's changed or erased.
